Role Description The Special Education Teacher is a full-time, on-site role located in Webster, WI, responsible for providing individualized instruction and support to students with disabilities. Day-to-day tasks include developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), adapting curriculum and instructional materials, and delivering specialized instruction in small group and inclusive classroom settings. The teacher collaborates with general education teachers, support staff, and families to monitor progress, adjust interventions, and ensure that students receive appropriate accommodations and modifications. Responsibilities also include maintaining accurate documentation, participating in IEP meetings, and complying with state and federal special education regulations. The role requires ongoing communication with caregivers and colleagues to promote student success and a positive learning environment.
Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Special Education practices and experience working with students with Disabilities.
  • Strong Teaching skills with the ability to support Elementary and Middle School–level learners.
  • Understanding of Special Education laws, IEP development, and individualized instructional planning.
  • Effective Communication skills for collaborating with students, families, colleagues, and support staff.
  • State teaching credential or licensure in Special Education (or eligibility to obtain), and a bachelor’s degree in education or a related field.
  • Ability to use data to inform instruction and familiarity with classroom technology and assistive tools.
  • Demonstrated capacity to create inclusive, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed learning environments.
  • Experience with behavior support strategies and social-emotional learning is beneficial.
  • Hold valid WI DPI approved licensure or be eligible to obtain one.
