Job Overview

We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Delicatessen team member to join our small store retail environment. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional customer service, assist with food preparation, and ensure the deli area maintains high standards of cleanliness and organization. Must be at least 18 years old to apply. Must be available to work between 9 AM and 7 PM.

Duties

• Prepare and package a variety of deli meats, cheeses, and prepared foods according to company standards.
• Assist customers with selections, answer questions about products, and provide excellent service.
• Maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of the deli area, including counters, equipment, and display cases.
• Restock shelves and display cases as needed to ensure product availability.
• Follow food safety guidelines and proper handling procedures at all times.
• Operate slicing machines and other deli equipment safely and efficiently.
• Manage inventory levels, monitor expiration dates, and report shortages or issues to management.
• Support team members in daily operations to ensure smooth workflow.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a deli, food service, or retail environment is preferred but not required.
• Strong customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate loads (up to 25 pounds).
• Knowledge of food safety standards and sanitation practices is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards.
• Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends if needed.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $ $14.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24 – 40 per week
