Overview
We are seeking experienced and reliable Heavy Forklift Operators to support daily operations at our container depot in Houston. This role involves handling, moving, and stacking shipping containers using large-capacity diesel forklifts.
This is not a standard warehouse forklift role—we are looking for operators with experience handling heavy equipment (8–10 ton capacity or higher) in outdoor yard or industrial environments. We will send successful candidates for training with the forklift and ECH.
Duties
- Operate heavy forklifts to load, unload, and move shipping containers within the yard
- Stack and organize containers safely and efficiently (within yard height limits)
- Position containers for incoming deliveries and outgoing shipments
- Assist with yard organization to ensure containers are accessible and properly arranged
- Perform daily equipment checks and report maintenance or safety issues
- Follow all safety procedures and operating guidelines
- Work closely with the Yard Manager and team to support daily operations
Requirements
- Proven experience operating large-capacity diesel forklifts (8–10 ton or higher)
- Container yards
- Trucking yards
- Industrial or heavy equipment environments
- Ability to work in an outdoor yard environment in various weather conditions
- Strong focus on safety and equipment handling
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team
Pay: $17.00 - $25.00 per hour
