What are the responsibilities and job description for the Student Engagement and Success Program Manager position at Weber State University?
The Student Engagement & Success Program Manager supports student retention, persistence, sense of belonging, and overall student success through proactive outreach, individualized student support, engagement programming, and campus collaboration.
This position develops and coordinates educational, cultural, leadership, and community-building initiatives that help students successfully navigate the university experience and build meaningful connections to Weber State University. The position also provides individualized support, resource navigation, and outreach for students from a variety of backgrounds and lived experiences, including first-generation students, returning students, transfer students, low-income students, and other student populations experiencing barriers to success.
The Program Manager collaborates with campus departments, student organizations, faculty, staff, alumni, and community partners to support engagement opportunities and student success initiatives aligned with the mission and goals of the Student Success Center and Weber State University.
Examples of tasks this position will engage in include:
- Provide proactive outreach, individualized support, resource referrals, and success planning for students.
- Connect students with campus and community resources to address academic, financial, personal, and transition-related needs.
- Develop, coordinate, and assess educational, cultural, leadership, wellness, and community-building programs and events.
- Serve as a lead coordinator for assigned engagement initiatives, including heritage/history month programming and related campus collaborations.
- Support student retention, persistence, and re-engagement efforts through outreach, engagement tracking, and data-informed practices.
- Assist with Student Success Center Scholarship Program initiatives, communications, and student engagement efforts.
- Collaborate with campus and community partners, support promotional efforts, maintain required records and assessments, and perform other duties as assigned.
