Job Description
Weber State University (WSU) invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track Instructor position in the School of Computing. This will be a 9- or 12-month position. The successful candidate will join our faculty in Summer or Fall 2026.
The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate level courses, primarily in a bilingual modality (English and Spanish), with an emphasis in Web Development and User Experience (UX).
NOTE: Instructor positions are temporary appointments renewable annually by separate contract at the sole discretion of the University.
Job Duties
Key Responsibilities:
- Bilingual Instruction: Teach undergraduate courses in the School of Computing using both English and Spanish, accommodating a variety of student populations.
- Curriculum Focus: Primary teaching responsibilities will be in the areas of Web Development, User Experience (UX), and related computing topics.
- Course Delivery: Instruct courses across various modalities, including Face-to-Face (F2F), Virtual/Remote, Hybrid, and Fully Online
- Location Flexibility: Teaching assignments may be at both the Ogden and Davis campuses and may include some evening classes.
- Service: Participate in department, college, and university service activities as appropriate for an instructor role.
Required Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree (BS) degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Professional Working proficiency in Spanish and English, both written and verbal.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred:
- MS degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in the areas of Python and C programming, Object-oriented programming, data structures, HTML CSS and Javascript, Databases, Software Engineering, Computer networking and cybersecurity.
- University-level teaching experience.
- Additional industry experience.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively with students, staff, and faculty peers.
