The Managing Editor (ME) ofWeber: The Contemporary Westwill work with the faculty editors throughout the editorial, production, and promotional processes. The ME will oversee submissions for each category, assist the editors in assigning submissions to be read during Fall semester, evaluate and compile selected submissions and communicate to the editors, send out acceptances and contracts to contributors, oversee the editing of selected submissions, organize the publication schedule, assist with website design, oversee the publication of finalized submissions, meet regularly with the editors, assist in coordination of editorial interns, assist in promoting the publication, and organize and facilitate the issue launch.
Required Qualifications
Candidates must be enrolled in the Master of Arts in English program, and be a student in good standing through the Spring term of the academic year. Candidates must possess excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills, excellent communication skills, and basic computer skills in Office, Adobe, and the ability to learn Wordpress and other design software.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in journal editing and publishing.
Eligibility for federal Work Study grant.
