Job Summary/Overview
Reporting to the Director of Assessment, School Improvement & Research, the Data Analyst is a key member of the team who will support in the development and maintenance of the district data dashboard and school data dashboards. The Data Analyst plays a critical role in supporting the district by collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to inform strategic decision-making and improve student outcomes. This position will work closely with various departments and stakeholders to provide insightful reports, and visualizations, based on data related to student achievement, attendance, demographics, and other key performance indicators. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical skills, a passion for education, and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
Desired Education and Training for Essential Functions:
- Bachelor degree preferred in Data & Statistics, Technology or related field
- Experience in data analysis, preferably in an educational setting
- Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools, preferably Tableau and Looker Studio
- Strong understanding of statistical concepts and methods
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office & Google
- Knowledge of educational data and reporting requirements.

Responsibilities:
- Data Collection and Management:
- Gather and compile data from various sources, including student information systems (SIS), assessment platforms, and other databases.
- Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency through data validation and cleaning processes.
- Maintain and update databases and data repositories.
- Develop and implement data collection procedures and protocols.
- Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Conduct statistical analysis and data mining to identify trends, patterns, and correlations.
- Develop and generate regular and ad-hoc reports and dashboards to visualize key performance indicators.
- Analyze student achievement data, attendance records, demographic information, and other relevant data sets.
- Prepare graphics and reports for various departments
- Utilize tools like SQL, Python, R, or statistical software (e.g. SPSS, SAS) to perform data analysis.
- Use Tableau, Looker Studio, and other visualization tools to represent data.
- Data Interpretation:
- Interpret data findings and provide actionable insights to inform decision-making.
- Assist in the development and evaluation of district-wide initiatives and programs.
- Support the district in meeting state and federal reporting requirements.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work collaboratively with administrators, teachers, and other staff to understand data needs and provide support.
- Communicate complex data findings in a clear and concise manner to non-technical audiences.
- Participate in professional development activities to stay current with data analysis best practices and educational trends.
