Material Handler
Webco Chemical Corporation and Bayscience Formulators in Dudley, MA specialize in developing, manufacturing, and packaging chemicals for industrial use, dairy farms, and personal care. We produce a variety of different products ranging from bleach and iodine to hand soap and body wash. A company of over one hundred employees, Webco is family run and has been in business since 1956.
As a part of Webco’s growth strategy, we have an opportunity for a material handler to assist us in our operations. The primary responsibilities include preparing for production and transferring materials. This position requires the candidate to assume a strategic role in the overall operations of Webco Chemical.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate material handling equipment (forklift, ride-on pallet jack) to move materials
- Fill and stage orders
- Track and update inventory of finished product and raw materials
- Transfer materials between departments and buildings
- Ensure finished goods meet quality specifications
- Keep production lines clear by moving finished goods from the line to staging area or other departments
- Replenish components and raw materials to the production line daily
- Maintain staging of materials and cleanliness of area, following Good Manufacturing Processes (GMP)
- Determine material availability for upcoming jobs
- Recommend floor stock replenishment by tracking raw materials, components and Finished Product Inventory
- Operate a Forklift/ride on a jack
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Accuracy in labeling and reporting
- Verify accuracy of BOL, Pick List, Packing Slip or any other paperwork
- Provide inventory counts when requested
- Responsible for all other duties assigned
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to write, read, and speak English
- Forklift operator experience
- Excellent attendance and punctuality
- Work overtime as needed
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds
- Stand most of the day
- Push and pull drums and materials up to 500 pounds using a hand jack
- Climb stairs and move containers most of the day
