· 24-month graduate assistant position.
· Full tuition waiver, student fees not included.
· $350 per month stipend, 10 months of the year (August-May).
Essential Functions
· Write recaps, press releases, and feature stories for assigned sports.
· Assist in graphic design and content production for athletics’ social media account.
· Provide gameday support at home contests, including statistics collection, live streaming operations, and/or photography.
· Assist in producing gameday publications.
· Help maintain and update sports information website and archives.
· Assist in responding to requests from the conference, NAIA, opponents, and local and national news media.
· Position will include work on nights and weekends with some travel required.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree.
· Acceptance into WIU’s Graduate School.
· Ideal candidate should be self-motivated, energetic, and has a desire to work in sports information.
· Must possess excellent writing and editing skills, along with a firm grasp of AP Style.
· Knowledge of computer applications such as Adobe Creative Suite and PrestoSports/StatCrew preferred.
· Experience with a website content management platform such as SIDEARM Sports preferred.
