Duties
- Prepare and dispense medications accurately under the supervision of licensed pharmacists
- Assist with medication intake, inventory management, and restocking to ensure the pharmacy is well-equipped for patient needs
- Provide exceptional patient service by answering medication-related questions and supporting medication administration processes
- Maintain detailed records of medication dispensing, patient interactions, and inventory logs in compliance with regulatory standards
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols during aseptic procedures and medication preparation to prevent contamination or errors
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to facilitate smooth medication workflows in acute care pharmacy settings
Requirements
- Proven pharmacy technician experience, preferably retail pharmacy environments
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration procedures,
- Familiarity with critical care or acute care pharmacy operations is highly desirable
- Excellent patient service skills with a focus on patient care and safety
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced settings while maintaining attention to detail
- Certification as a pharmacy technician according to state or provincial regulations; ongoing education in pharmacy practice is a plus
