Job Summary
This position provides technical support for the maintenance and utilization of the department's information technology systems.
Major Duties
- Assists in setting up equipment for employee use; ensures the proper installation of cables, operating systems, and software.
- Trains users in the proper utilization of enterprise servers/applications.
- Troubleshoots and resolves PC, network connectivity, and other IT hardware/software issues.
- Monitors IT systems operations to ensure operability; troubleshoots and resolves problems.
- Research system additions and upgrades; make purchase recommendations.
- Manages the inventory of the department's IT equipment.
- Maintains printers and other peripheral devices.
- Installs, maintains, and repairs radio communications equipment.
- Maintains electronic equipment and software on department vehicles.
- Researches, gathers data, and prepares reports, presentations, and publications.
- Maintains and repairs a DVR camera monitoring system.
- Maintains the fingerprint identification system.
- Maintains and repairs telephone equipment.
- Consults with hardware and software vendors for troubleshooting and problem resolution.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
- Must have a high school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
- Must have at least one ( 1 ) year of work experience in computers, network support, or a related field.

- The work consists of related technical duties. Frequent changes in technology contribute to the complexity of the position.
- The purpose of this position is to provide technical support for the operation and maintenance of the department’s IT system. Success in this position contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of county operations.

- Must possess a valid and current Texas driver's license.
- The Webb County Drug and Alcohol Policy applies to this position. Pre-employment drug and alcohol testing, a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check, and a criminal background check are required.
- This position is covered by Civil Service; therefore, is subject to the Civil Service Rules and Regulations in addition to all other Webb County policies.
Valid Texas Driver’s License*
- If the applicant holds an out-of-state license, a State of Texas Driver’s License must be obtained prior to employment.
