QUALIFICATIONS

1. Baccalaureate Degree in Education
2. Valid Missouri Certificate from the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education in the subject ROTC 9-12
3. Ability to communicate effectively
4. Basic technological skills

ARMY REQUIRMENTS

Once the applicant is offered the position, the school district will notify the Army.  The applicant will fill out an application with the Army.  The CNACI background check is also required.   Please visit this link: https://usarmyjrotc.army.mil/application-certification-2/  and search under Employment then Eligibility for pre-qualification application requirements. Once the applicant is offered the position, the

school district will complete an Intent to Hire Letter. Both documents are submitted to the Army to

begin the CNACI background check. 

• Manage and conduct the JROTC unit in accordance with Department of Defense and School District rules, regulations, and policies.
• Advise school authorities on policy and regulation changes
• Maintain good relations with school authorities, faculty, and the student body
• Conduct a public affairs effort in the local area middle and elementary schools,among school and community officials, civic groups, parent-teacher groups and other individuals or groups, designed to further the understanding of JROTC, the school and the Army
• Enroll students in JROTC and support school officials while executing the curriculum and the integrated extra-curricular activities.
• Prepare weekly training schedules
• Maintain contact with parents of all Cadets experiencing academic or behavioral problems
• Ensure JROTC unit areas are neat and orderly; current chain of command photos, Cadet creed, core abilities and mission statement are present; and all sensitive items are secured
• Maintain a current copy of DA Form 3126 and/or DA Form 3126-1, a completed service learning checklist/rubric, a current copy of a bond/insurance certificate, and required JUMS reports
• Maintain accountability of all equipment, including items requiring formal accountability, informal accountability (i.e., clothing), and durable items (i.e.,automation, computers, audiovisual), but still requiring property accountability
• Carry out all other duties as assigned.

JOB SUMMARY

The purpose of the Classroom Teacher is to provide students of the Webb City R-7 School District with educational instruction, which will foster and accelerate their intellectual, physical, social and career development while meeting the Army criteria.

The Classroom Teacher will:

• Be informed of rules, policies and regulations of the school and District and follow them as required.
• Understand and apply the instructional process with teaching and learning.
• Be willing to provide leadership, motivation, instruction, assessment and instructional strategies necessary to meet the needs of all students.
• Share expectations and student progress with parents throughout the year.

• Have good interpersonal skills to work with staff members, students, parents and the community.
• Implement instructional activities that contribute to a climate where students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences.
• Identifies, selects and modifies instructional resources to meet the needs of the students with varying backgrounds, learning styles and special needs.
• Assist in assessing changing curricular needs and offers plans for improvement.
• Maintain effective and efficient record keeping procedures including electronic formats.
• Provide a positive classroom environment in which students are encouraged to be actively engaged in the learning process.
• Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with students, parents and other professionals on a regular basis.
• Collaborate with peers to enhance the instructional environment.
• Model professional and ethical standards as directed in Board policy when dealing with students, parents, peers and community.
• Ensure student growth and achievement is continuous and appropriate for age group, subject area and/or program classification.
• Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, parents and school staff.
• Respect confidentiality of student information and records.
• Participate in training opportunities as established by District.
• Meet professional obligations through efficient work habits such as: following meeting protocol, honoring schedules, meeting collaborative assignment deadlines, etc.
• Participate in parent-teacher-student conferences as need arises.
• Provide for a systematic program of self-evaluation to improve daily performance.
• All work responsibilities are subject to having performance goals and/or targets established as part of the teacher evaluation process.
• Demonstrate conduct representative of the District and establish and maintain a good relationship with the community.
• Models positive behavior for students (i.e. inter-personal communication, processes, social interactions, etc.) for the purpose of providing educational and life skills training.
• Demonstrate professionalism and appropriate judgment in behavior, speech, dress and appropriate professional manner for the work setting.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:

• stand, walk, sit and talk/hear;
• occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl;
• occasionally push, pull or lift up to 50 lbs; and
• be able to see, including close, distance and depth perception.
