What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Manager position at Webb Chemical Service Corporation?
The Quality Manager will lead and maintain our Quality Management System (QMS). This role is critical in ensuring compliance with FSSC 22000, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and Responsible Distribution standards. The ideal candidate is dedicated and detail-oriented and will have a strong background in quality assurance within the chemical or related industries and a passion for continuous improvement and regulatory compliance.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate, maintain, and continuously improve the company’s QMS.
- Ensure alignment with corporate goals and regulatory requirements.
- Lead internal audits and coordinate external certification audits.
- Compliance & Certification
- Maintain compliance with FSSC 22000, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and Responsible Distribution.
- Prepare documentation and reports for certification bodies.
- Monitor changes in standards and implement necessary updates.
- Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and risk reduction.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Develop and deliver training programs on quality standards and procedures.
- Documentation & Reporting
- Manage controlled documents, SOPs, Work Instructions and records related to quality and compliance.
- Analyze quality data and present findings to leadership.
- Customer & Supplier Relations
- Address customer quality concerns and ensure timely resolution.
- Evaluate supplier quality performance and support qualification processes.
- Embrace technology – recommend solutions that implement tech to focus on continuous improvement
- Report on and establish Quality KPI’s
- Embody continuous improvement - recommend ongoing improvement/opportunities for Webb
- Attendance to any/all required Webb meetings
- Complete special projects as needed
ENVIRONMENTAL, HEALTH, AND SAFETY
- Contribute to compliance for safety, regulatory, and environmental requirements applicable to Webb’s operation
ISO
- Responsible for compliance and documentation for Webb Chemical operations and update as needed
FINANCIAL
- Development, investigation, expense monitoring, and tracking transportation budgets
- Cost control, improvements, capital planning, and cost reduction mindset

SKILLS REQUIRED
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Quality Management, Quality Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in quality management, preferably in chemical distribution or manufacturing.
- In-depth knowledge of FSSC 22000, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and Responsible Distribution.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Experience with audit processes and regulatory compliance.
- Proficiency in QMS software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Lead Auditor certification (ISO 9001 or ISO 14001).
- Familiarity with environmental and safety regulations.
- Experience working in a multi-site or global organization.
- Ability to plan and think creatively to obtain optimal routes.
