What are the responsibilities and job description for the Packaging Operator 2nd Shift position at WEBB CHEMICAL SERVICE CORPORATION?
- The Packaging Operator (PO) works in various warehouse and chemical production work zones focusing on the empty container handling for supporting Chemical Operations at Webb. This role is responsible for the movement, setup, washing, prep, and staging of empty containers in and around Webb Chemical's various chemical process work zones. This role must operate at all times utilizing Webb's safety protocols, Work Instructions, PPE and adhere to safety standards for each work zone. This is an effort to outline the responsibilities of the position to include, but not limited to, all the following and additional responsibilities as assigned by management.

- RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for the safe container washing procedures of prior hazardous chemicals in containers at Webb
- Perform container washout and changeover depending on the business need
- Perform tote and container maintenance functions as it relates to Webb procedures and 49 CFR regulations
- Perform chemical transfer hose maintenance functions and testing of hoses as it pertains to Webb's regulatory requirements on transfer hoses
- Responsible for the movement of empty and full containers at Webb safely using a forklift in accordance to Webb Work Instructions
- Loading and unloading containers as they arrive to Webb Chemical and use of equipment to place those containers in their corresponding storage areas at Webb
- Properly use Trackabout to record the movement and status of Webb's containers as they move in various use states Driving Capability for yard trucks, switchers, forklifts, and power pallet jacks
- Operating forklift to load/unload trucks
- Working with Inventory Management System o Barcoding, loading boxes, shipping/receiving, repackaging, correct labeling
- Understand and perform proper labelling of containers and de-labelling depending on the business need
- Understand and consistently meet Webb's 100% container inspection process
- Proper use of safety equipment and safety showers
- Following, improving, and updating work instructions
- Assist with managing container and packaging materials such as gaskets, bungs, pallets, and other related items
- Assist with the recycling/waste process pertaining to Webb/Original Pack totes or other containers
- Assist with asset and chemical inventory cycle counts as needed
- Reporting and being an active part of the continual improvement process
- Ability to perform audits in accordance with regulatory requirements

- Working outdoors in varying weather conditions daily/year round
- Check in with Supervisor/Leader before punching out daily for any final assignments
