Responsibilities
- CNC machining – set up, run, and maintain 3-/5-axis mills and lathes; choose tooling, workholding and work setups
- CNC maintenance- Perform regular CNC machine maintenance and inspection
- 3-D printing – operate FDM/SLA printers, post-process parts, and validate fit & finish
- Robot build & rework – assemble electromechanical subsystems, integrate wiring, and bring full robots to life
- Troubleshooting & repair – diagnose mechanical failures, swap components, and document fixes
- Rapid iteration – work shoulder-to-shoulder with engineers, giving real-time feedback on DFM and tolerances
- Shop stewardship – keep our prototype lab organized, safe, and stocked with consumables
- Hands-on experience running CNC equipment or industrial 3-D printers (2 years preferred)
- CAM/CAD fluency (Fusion 360, SolidWorks)
- Ability to read mechanical drawings, GD&T, and basic wiring diagrams
- Pro at hand tools, fasteners, soldering, and safe shop practices
- Maker mindset: you iterate quickly, keep clear notes, balance process with agility in a fast-moving environment, and own quality from first chip to final assembly
- Eligible to work in the U.S. and available to work on-site in San Francisco
- Ability to manufacture high complexity parts and maintain tight tolerances for mating components
- Experience in inspecting precision-machined parts using manual tools (calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, height gauges) and automated systems, ensuring conformance to tight tolerances and GD&T requirements
- Hands-on experience fabricating composite structures combining materials such as carbon fiber, fiberglass, and aluminum; including layup, bonding, mechanical fastening, and post-processing.
- Experience with building and working with/around robots
- Basic PCB re-work, crimping, or harness fabrication
- OSHA 10 or other safety certifications
Salary : $80,000 - $100,000
