Position Summary:
Under the supervision of the WEAVE’s Chief Strategy Officer, the Disabilities Grant Project Coordinator serves as the project manager for Shared Vision Sacramento, a federally funded, collaboration between WEAVE and the Society for the Blind. The goal of the collaboration is to transform the member agencies’ capacity to empower survivors of interpersonal, domestic, and/or sexual violence who are Blind/Low-vision in the Sacramento Region by creating comprehensive policies and procedures, equipping staff with client-centered, trauma-informed training, fostering an organizational culture of awareness, and developing resources and educational tools to be used by the agencies. The Coordinator is responsible for moving the collaboration through the implementation phases of the project, based on an established strategic plan and approved objectives and activities. In addition, the Coordinator is the primary contact for WEAVE’s Technical Assistance provider and staff from other OVW Disabilities Grant Program funded projects. In order to achieve a range of objectives this role requires a self-motivated individual with project management experience, an ability to effectively engage stakeholders, and a commitment to improve accessibility and safety for individuals with disabilities and survivors of interpersonal and sexual violence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading collaboration through the planning, development, and implementation phases by:
- Scheduling meetings, conference calls, and managing project deadlines.
- Creating agendas and facilitating collaboration meetings.
- Documenting decisions regarding planning and development deliverables and following up on action items to ensure completion.
- Monitoring grant objectives to ensure deliverables are met on time.
- Maintaining documentation of project activities for reporting purposes.
- Building and maintaining relationships with collaborative partner employees and volunteers, WEAVE employees and volunteers, Technical Assistance providers, OVW staff and other stakeholders.
- Ensuring the creation, submission, and approval of key deliverables.
- Tracking deliverables based on the outcomes and decisions of the collaboration.
- Preparing grant and progress reports by:
- Working with grants management staff to ensure the timely entry of data by program staff and retrieving and analyzing reports.
- Maintaining detailed records of activities in support of project deliverables and developing narrative content consistent with OVW reporting requirements and program timelines.
- Collecting narrative reports and anecdotal information from program staff and collaborative partners.
- Writing, reviewing, and submitting reports in a timely manner.
- Providing feedback on grant progress to program managers and staff.
- Working in partnership with WEAVE Leadership Team to ensure policies and procedures incorporate accessibility for all types of disabilities and staff receive training on providing accessible services.
- Working in partnership with Society for the Blind Leadership to ensure policies and procedures incorporate safety for survivors and staff receive training on how to screen for domestic and sexual violence and ensure the safety of services for survivors.
- In partnership with CEOs/Executive Directors of collaborative partners, facilitate information sessions to roll out new and updated policies and procedures to employees of collaborative partners.
- Assisting program staff with questions regarding the OVW Disabilities Grant Program.
- Attending department meetings and trainings as they relate to job duties
- Supporting Chief Strategy Officer with systemic change capacity building and staff engagement
- Facilitating presentations for members of community-based organizations and staff
Other Responsibilities
- Attend monthly project meetings and all sites meetings managed by federal technical assistance provider.
- Regularly attend agency and department meetings and in-service trainings at WEAVE and Society for the Blind.
- Comply with all applicable agency policies and procedures, including but not limited to those regarding documenting services provided, daily and accurate timekeeping, attendance, completion of required WEAVE Peer Counselor Training and continuing education, Society for the Blind onboarding training, and funder required trainings.
- Maintain regular office hours at both partner locations on a weekly basis.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Human Services, Communications, Public Administration, or related field and at least two years’ experience in project management in a nonprofit setting with preference for those with experience in fields providing disability services or violence prevention. Combination of education and/or comparable experience can substitute for education requirements.
- Experience facilitating systems change efforts across departments to within collaborations.
- Excellent writing, organization, project management, time management, and analytical skills
- Knowledge of accessibility and accommodations for all disabilities
- Knowledge of various community-based approaches to domestic violence and sexual assault intervention, prevention and systems change work.
- Above average analytical ability
- Skilled, diplomatic collaborator and facilitator
- Prior experience with public speaking, community outreach and coordination of trainings required
- Passion for and commitment to leading and coordinating team efforts
- Experience planning, implementing, and evaluating programs, including balancing the value of both process and outcome.
- Advanced computer skills in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Office, and Outlook.
- Reliable transportation to meet the expectations of the position. For those using personal transportation, a valid California driver’s license and current proof of vehicle insurance with be required.
- Satisfactory completion of WEAVE’s peer counselor training program (post-hire requirement).

Work environment is primarily a busy office setting in a two-story building with stairs and an elevator, or in various community settings to deliver training/presentations. Local travel (driving) will be required to conduct meetings and other activities at various area locations. Employees may need to move around and between floors, occasionally lift or move items weighing up to 25 lbs., or reach items above their head, below their waist, or stored in/on drawers and shelves. Employees may also need to remain in one position (i.e. sitting or standing) for an extended period while completing work tasks. Must be able to efficiently operate a keyboard and mouse or adaptive equivalent, write reports, take notes; utilize desk tools such as phones or calculators, and utilize larger office equipment such as printers and copy machines; communicate clearly and concisely with others; and apply above average reasoning and attention to detail as required in the accomplishment of job duties.
Salary : $24 - $40
