Summary:
We are currently seeking a social emotional interventionist to work with students in the school
setting for the 2026-2027– school year at Weathersfield Elementary School. Excellent written and
verbal communication skills required, as is the ability to work well on a team. Energy, patience,
flexibility and enthusiasm for children and education are required. Qualified candidates will have
documented education, training and experience.
Qualifications:
● Bachelor Degree in a related Human Service Field (Sociology, Psychology,
Human Services);
● Demonstrated experience supporting students with SEL needs, including students who
have experienced trauma
● Strong and effective communication skills
● Ability to build strong positive relationships
● Ability to foster positive learning environment
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
● Identifies social emotional challenges of individual students through analysis of factors.
● Determines and implements appropriate SEL strategies to effect changes in
behavioral-social interactions of students.
● Collaborates with staff in implementing SEL strategies to promote student learning.
● Responds to students in crisis situations.
● Conducts social skills groups and individualized SEL support as needed.
● Participate in building-based meetings as needed.
● Maintain the confidentiality of schools, classrooms, teachers, and students
● Perform other duties and responsibilities related to SEL as assigned.
● Communicate with parents/guardians, as needed
● Collect and analyze data, as needed
