Position Overview
The Laundry Aide ensures a clean, organized, and well-stocked environment by handling facility and resident laundry while maintaining safety and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Pick up, launder, and deliver facility linens
- Pick up and launder resident personal laundry on assigned days
- Maintain organized laundry and supply areas; use washer, dryer, iron, and other laundry equipment properly
- Report needed repairs or unsafe conditions to maintenance or supervisor
- Report on-the-job injuries immediately
- Follow Employee Handbook and Performance Expectations
- Learn the special needs of residents and report changes in behavior to nursing staff
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
Qualifications
GED or High School graduation preferred
- 1 year of experience in a related field preferred
- Proficient in repetitive tasks and organization
Able to read, write, speak, and understand English
Physical Requirements
- Lift 40 lbs and carry 40 lbs
- Push 250 lb resident in wheelchair or cart of same weight
- Frequent standing, walking, squatting, bending, and repetitive arm/hand movements
