About the Role

Weatherly Inn is seeking a compassionate and energetic Activity Assistant for our Memory Care to help plan, coordinate, and lead engaging activities that enrich the daily lives of our residents. This role supports resident well-being by encouraging participation, fostering social connection, and creating meaningful experiences in a safe and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with Planning and Leading Scheduled Resident Activities

• Responsible for the Entertainment of Residents.

• Assist in the Development of the Annual Budget and to Meet the Budget on an Annual Basis.
• Responsible for Maintaining Order and Cleanliness of the Activity Spaces.
• Responsible for Taking the Residents for Drives

• Encourage Resident Participation While Respecting Individual Preferences and Abilities

• Support Activities in Memory Care As Appropriate

• Communicate Effectively with Residents, Families, and Team Members

• Monitor Resident Behavior and Report Changes to Nursing Staff

• Maintain a Clean, Safe, and Organized Activity Environment

• Follow All Policies, Procedures, and Safety Guidelines

• Report Safety Concerns, Incidents, or Suspected Abuse Immediately

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required

• 1 year of experience in activities, senior care, or a related field
• Activity-related education preferred
• Required certifications (upon hire or within designated time frame):
  • Food Handler permit (within 14 days)
  • CPR & First Aid (within 90 days)
  • Dementia & Mental Health Training (within 90 days)

• Valid Washington State Driver’s License with a clean driving record

Skills & Abilities

• Strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills
• Comfortable assisting residents with mobility and daily engagement
• Creativity in arts, crafts, music, or group activities preferred
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and assist residents throughout the shift
