What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Coordinator position at WeatherGard Windows?
WeatherGard is growing quickly, and we’re looking for an experienced, highly-organized Production Coordinator with a background in construction, building products, manufacturing, millwork, windows and doors, or related trades. This is a critical role within our production operation. You’ll work directly with the Plant Manager, production team, vendors, sales staff, and customers to keep projects moving from order entry through production and delivery. If you understand how construction schedules work, know the importance of accurate materials and job files, and can keep multiple projects moving without missing the details, we want to hear from you.
What You’ll Do
- Coordinate daily production schedules and workflow for window and door manufacturing
- Support the Plant Manager with day-to-day production and shop operations
- Ensure jobs are released to the production floor accurately and on schedule
- Review work orders, measurements, specifications, and job files for accuracy before production begins
- Order and track materials including glass, hardware, door walls, and other production components
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to ensure materials arrive on time and match specifications
- Receive and inspect incoming materials and door walls, verifying quantities and accuracy
- Build and organize production batches, job packets, and shop paperwork
- Catch errors, missing information, and conflicts before they impact production or installation
- Monitor jobs through production and help resolve delays, shortages, change orders, and scheduling issues
- Serve as the communication link between production, sales, installation, vendors, and customers
- Assist customers and the sales team with updates, job changes, and special requests
- Help maintain quality control standards and ensure every order is built correctly the first time
- Maintain accurate records, data entry, production notes, and job status updates
- Step in to troubleshoot problems, expedite urgent jobs, and manage escalated issues when needed
Ideal Background
We are especially interested in candidates with experience in:
- Construction, residential remodeling, or building products
- Window and door manufacturing or installation
- Millwork, cabinetry, lumber, or related trades
- Production scheduling, operations, or manufacturing coordination
- Construction project coordination or office support
- Working with measurements, blueprints, material lists, and job specifications
