Responsibilities
The Global Productivity Leader in Houston, TX is responsible and accountable to drive improved labor productivity within the business. With a focus on field operations, the Global Productivity Leader will define and drive initiatives to improve efficiency and effectiveness. This will include efforts to impact field personnel utilization and personnel productivity, identify and reduce inefficiencies in process and tools, developing standards for work procedures and crew staffing models, assessing performance trends, leading continuous improvement activities, and ensuring we are executing according to requirements in a safe and productive manner. This will be done through rigorous implementation of the related enterprise initiatives, and regular engagement with Operations to ensure their contribution to the continuous improvement process. The role will report directly to the Vice President of Service Excellence, and be a key support function for geozone productivity resources of that team.
OPERATIONS
- Responsible for identifying new or enhancing existing initiatives to improve labor productivity.
- Responsible to oversee the implementation, adoption and ongoing execution of the enterprise system for field personnel utilization measurement including baseline establishment, target setting, including staffing methodology and budget labor planning process.
- Assessment of field personnel productivity from a data analytics perspective, ensuring continual improvement and understanding of key levers to drive improvement.
- Accountable to drive improvements in field personnel utilization through collaboration with the Service Excellence team, establishment of targets and implementation of identified opportunities such as: standard crew designs, crew rotation optimization, and high activity contingency planning.
- Maintain ongoing oversight of performance and productivity, identify opportunities and remediate negative efficiency performance trends through work procedures, processes or other improvements, positively impacting safety, quality, cycle efficiency and cost performance.
- Process value-stream mapping of key tasks that impact field efficiency, including identification and resolution of pain points and inefficiencies.
- Oversight of Field Operator multiskilling, including adoption and program effectiveness. Engagement with Training and Development on the development of other related field multiskilling programs.
- Oversight of productivity/margin enhancement projects being executed in the geozone that may be identified or initiated through: ideation events, efficiency workouts, sharing and lessons learned from other geozone or product lines, etc.
- Utilize and share DMAIC methodology as part of continuous improvement process where relevant.
- Participate in regular reviews with Global Product Lines regarding upcoming new technology roll-out that impact personnel efficiency
- Participate in targeted efficiency initiatives in other geozones, as required.
Qualifications
REQUIRED
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, from an accredited College or University
- 4 years experience in an Operations, Supply Chain or Quality role
- Lean Black Belt certification
- 2 years experience in a role focused on labor and process efficiency in Oil and Gas or other industry.
PREFERRED
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, from an accredited College or University
- Project management certification
- 4 years experience in a role focused on labor and process efficiency in Oil and Gas or other industry.
- 6 years experience in an Operations, Supply Chain or Quality role
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
REQUIRED
- 4 years of relevant experience in operational delivery and management
- Detail oriented individual with proven ability to prioritize and complete multiple projects concurrently and within projected deadlines. Ability to offer creative solutions and resourceful problem solving skills
- Knowledge of and experience using key productivity skills including process mapping, time & motion studies, job/process sampling, standard work and staffing tools, statistical analysis, ergonomics/human factors
- Change agent, able to challenge the current state and seek improvement
- Ability to engage with both Leadership and Field Personnel ensuring open feedback to problem solving
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively as part of global & virtual teams across multiple geographies
- Well organized, effective written, verbal and presentation skills. Ability to prepare and present clear and concise oral and written opinions, reports and presentations.
PREFERRED
- Experience in labor and process efficiency improvement role
- Experience or training of project delivery & implementation, as well as data management
- Experience in relevant oilfield services, including Weatherford product line(s)
