Position Summary:
Responsible for preparing accurate plumbing CAD drawings for residential new construction projects using architectural plans provided by builders. This position will develop plumbing layouts, coordinate revisions, and ensure drawings meet company standards and project specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review architectural and construction plans provided by builders.
- Create plumbing CAD layouts for new residential construction.
- Identify and accurately position plumbing fixtures, water supply lines, drain lines, and vent systems.
- Revise drawings based on builder changes and field requirements.
- Coordinate with plumbing supervisors, project managers, and construction teams.
- Maintain organized drawing files and project documentation.
- Ensure drawings follow established company standards and applicable plumbing code requirements.
Requirements
- Proven experience in mechanical drafting, 2D CAD drafting, and 3D modeling specifically within residential or building construction environments.
- Proficiency with CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or BlueBeam
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems design including piping layouts, schematics, and system integration within residential buildings.
- Familiarity with building information modeling (BIM) tools and construction documentation standards.
- Ability to interpret mechanical engineering drawings and translate them into precise CAD models.
- Excellent technical writing skills for creating clear documentation and assembly instructions.
- Experience 3D CAD modeling for product design or system analysis is a plus.
- Knowledge of construction processes related to plumbing installation is highly desirable.
