What are the responsibilities and job description for the Press Operator- 5 pm to 2 am position at Wearparts Tillage Tools?
Position:
Wearparts is now accepting applications for an Assembly Press Operator with a positive attitude to join our team on our Night Shift (5:00 pm to 2:00 am Monday through Friday). A Press Operator shifts between press stations depending on the demand of products being sold: pressing bearings into housings, pressing hubs onto seed disc openers, checking tolerances of assemblies. This position is repetitious and requires focus and organizational skills.
It is important to ensure workplace health and safety requirements are met and take responsibility for the security of the building, product stock, & personnel. Our production crew works directly with the Operations Manager to ensure productivity targets are met to sustain a workflow in relation to sales.
Primary Duties:
- Operate a hydraulic press
- Operate a tolerance machine
- Accurately package seed disc openers to be transferred to shipping warehouse
- Safely operate forklift and pallet jack
- Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety
- Ensure safe operation of the warehouse including meeting standards for sanitation, maintenance, security and housekeeping
- Other duties as required and assigned
Requirements:
- Experience using electrical and manual tools
- Diagnose and repair machines as needed
- Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
- Positive “can-do” attitude
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Knowledge of relative safety standards
- Knowledge of operations procedures (palleting, proper forklift maneuvers, etc.)
- Current Driver’s License
