About The Role
Group IT is a newly forming department following the creation of the Quanta Group and changes to the way services are provided to subsidiary companies. Group IT will provide Corporate IT and Information Security services across all group companies and manage the IT service provision from third-party providers.
The IT Operations & Governance role will act as the central coordinating function for Group IT, ensuring the department operates with clarity, control, and consistency across all group companies. The role will design, maintain, and enforce the IT governance framework, enabling effective decision‑making, risk management, and compliance. It will lead IT vendor and contract management, ensuring third‑party IT services are well‑controlled, cost‑effective, and aligned to strategic needs.
The role will own IT financial and budget management, providing transparency of spend, forecasting, and value delivery. It will coordinate all IT‑related audit and risk activity, ensuring findings are addressed and obligations met. Through the development of robust IT management information, operational processes, and licence management, the role will underpin the smooth running of Group IT and provide leadership with clear insight into performance, risk, and operational health.

About The Role

Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and evolve the IT governance framework, ensuring consistent processes, standards and decision making across IT.
- Coordinate policy development, approval, communication, and compliance monitoring.
- Support strategic planning, portfolio governance, and alignment of IT activities to business priorities
- Vendor & Contract Management
- Oversee the lifecycle of IT suppliers, including supporting selection, onboarding, performance monitoring and renewal.
- Ensure contracts, SLAs, and commercial terms are well managed, deliver value, and are aligned with IT Operational and security requirements.
- Maintain a central register of IT contracts, risks, and obligations.
- Financial & Budget Management
- Oversee the TI budgeting process, forecasting, and cost tracking across Group IT.
- Provide financial MI, cost transparency, and analysis to support investment decisions.
- Ensure financial controls, approvals, and procurement processes are followed.
- Audit, Risk & Compliance Coordination
- Act as the primary interface for internal and external audits relating to IT.
- Coordinate responses, evidence gathering, remediation tracking, and reporting.
- Maintain the IT risk register and support risk assessments, mitigation planning, and compliance activities.
- Operational Processes & MI
- Define and maintain core IT operational processes in conjunction with our third-party suppliers (eg. change, incident, asset, configuration.)
- In conjunction with the service management team, produce regular IT management information covering performance, risk, service levels, and operational health.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across IT operations.
- License & Asset Management
- Maintain accurate records of software licenses, entitlements, renewals, and usage.
- Ensure compliance with licensing terms and optimise spend through effective management.
- Support hardware and software asset lifecycle processes.
- Strong understanding of IT governance, operational processes, and service management frameworks (eg. ITIL)
- Experience managing IT vendors, contracts, and commercial negotiations.
- Solid financial literacy, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis.
- Experience coordinating audits, risk assessments, and compliance activities.
- Ability to produce clear, actionable management information and reporting.
- Strong organisational and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to work across multiple teams and business units.
- A background in IT operations and an understanding of IT Infrastructure, Cloud, and M365 environments.
- Experience in a multi-entity or group environment.
- Highly organised, structured, and detail oriented.
- Strong communicator who can translate between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proactive problem-solver with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Comfortable working in a newly forming function and shaping processes from the ground up.
