Weakley Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is seeking a dedicated, experienced, and compassionate Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our clinical team. This is an excellent opportunity for a Registered Nurse (RN) with proven leadership experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, post-acute care, and senior living services who is committed to delivering outstanding resident care while building and supporting exceptional nursing teams.

As the Director of Nursing, you will provide leadership and oversight of the nursing department, ensuring high clinical standards, regulatory compliance, quality outcomes, and an exceptional resident experience. Working closely with the Administrator and interdisciplinary leadership team, you will help drive staff engagement, operational excellence, and a culture centered on resident-focused care.

Director of Nursing Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all nursing operations within the skilled nursing facility

• Lead, mentor, and support Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and nursing leadership team members

• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations related to long-term care and skilled nursing services

• Drive improvements in clinical quality measures, infection prevention programs, survey readiness, and resident outcomes

• Develop and maintain nursing policies, procedures, and clinical best practices

• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, department leaders, residents, and families to ensure quality care and communication

• Recruit, develop, train, and retain top nursing talent

• Oversee staffing, scheduling, performance management, employee development, and team engagement initiatives

• Ensure appropriate care planning, documentation, risk management, and regulatory compliance practices

• Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, compassion, and clinical excellence

Qualifications

• Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing

• Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Director of Nursing (DON) or Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) in a skilled nursing or long-term care environment

• Strong understanding of CMS regulations, state survey requirements, infection prevention, quality measures, and nursing operations

• Excellent leadership, communication, coaching, and team-building abilities

• Demonstrated success implementing clinical programs and policies that improve quality outcomes

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to effectively manage competing priorities
