Activity Aide Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, organizing, and conducting recreational activities for residents.

• Lead group activities including games, crafts, music, exercise programs, holiday events, and social gatherings.

• Encourage resident participation and engagement in activity programs.

• Provide one-on-one visits and individualized activities for residents unable to attend group programs.

• Help decorate and prepare for special events, celebrations, and community outings.

• Document resident participation and progress according to facility guidelines.

• Work closely with nursing staff and the interdisciplinary team to support resident well-being.

• Promote a positive, welcoming, and resident-centered environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.

• Previous experience in activities, recreation, healthcare, customer service, childcare, senior living, long-term care, or skilled nursing preferred.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Creative, energetic, and compassionate personality.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Experience working with seniors, dementia residents, or rehabilitation patients is a plus.
