Job Overview

Duties
- Greet customers warmly and professionally, establishing rapport and understanding their vehicle concerns
- Listen actively to customer needs and accurately document vehicle issues and service requests
- Provide detailed explanations of recommended repairs, maintenance procedures, and estimated costs using auto estimating tools
- Coordinate with technicians to prioritize repairs and ensure timely completion of services such as oil changes, brake repairs, alignments, suspension work, tire services, transmission repairs, diesel engine diagnostics, shocks & struts replacements, air brake systems, and auto body repairs
- Upsell additional services or maintenance based on vehicle condition and manufacturer recommendations to enhance customer satisfaction and dealership revenue
- Manage service writing duties efficiently, including creating work orders and updating customers on progress
- Handle cash transactions accurately while maintaining a professional attitude during all customer interactions
- Maintain comprehensive records of service history, parts used, and customer communications for future reference
- Collaborate with the sales team when appropriate to support automobile sales efforts by providing excellent service advice
Qualifications
- Proven dealership experience with a strong background in auto service management or automotive diagnostics
- Mechanical knowledge across various systems including transmissions, oil changes, brake repair, alignments, suspension systems, tire services, diesel engines, shocks & struts, air brakes, and auto body repair
- Experience working as a service technician or in automotive repair environments is highly desirable
- Skilled in auto estimating software and proficient in automotive service writing practices
- Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly and professionally
- Knowledge of upselling techniques to recommend additional services that benefit the customer while increasing revenue
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately while maintaining integrity and professionalism
- Familiarity with mechanic experience or automotive diagnostics enhances effectiveness in advising customers on complex repairs
