What are the responsibilities and job description for the Heavy Duty Diesel Technician position at Weakland's Mechanic Shop, Inc.?
***This position is primarily responsible for off-site road service calls, performing heavy-duty repairs in the field. When not dispatched, the mechanic will work out of the shop.***
Duties:
- Perform diagnostic tests on diesel vehicles to identify issues and determine necessary repairs
- Repair and maintain diesel engines, transmissions, and other components of heavy-duty vehicles
- Conduct regular maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, and tire rotations
- Use specialized tools and equipment to complete repairs and installations
- Perform tire service including mounting, balancing, and repairs
- Keep accurate records of all repairs and maintenance performed
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing customer concerns and explaining repair processes
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Diesel Technician or similar role
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines and their components
- Proficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment
- Familiarity with tire service procedures
- Physical stamina to perform heavy lifting and manual labor
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong customer service skills
**CDL license would be a plus**
