Seek and Sight is a web-based educational platform that teaches sight words to children with learning disabilities through STEM concepts, social-emotional learning, and personalized, curriculum-aligned tools. Seek and Sight addresses critical social and educational challenges that impact children with learning disabilities, their families, and underserved communities.
Role (Volunteer):Â Graphic Designer.
Role Description: We’re looking for a creative and collaborative Graphic Designer to bring the visual world of Seek and Sight to life. In this role, you'll help design colorful, engaging, and inclusive visual assets that support our interactive literacy mini-games and story-based learning environments. Your designs will directly support children with learning differences by making reading fun, immersive, and visually accessible.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create characters that reflect diverse cultural backgrounds and represent neurodiverse learners
- Design game backgrounds, scenes, and environments that align with game themes (e.g., MathLand, Ellie’s World, Techie Tim)
- Develop UI elements and display screens for game navigation, instruction panels, and reward animations
- Collaborate closely with UX/UI designers, the game developer, and education specialists to maintain consistency across the user experience
- Contribute to visual storyboards and creative direction for new games, levels, and STEAM learning modules
- Ensure visual accessibility by designing for color contrast, font readability, and sensory-friendly aesthetics
🖍️ Preferred Skills:
- Proficiency in tools like Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Figma, or Procreate
- Experience in 2D digital illustration, children’s media, or educational game design
- A strong understanding of character expression, storytelling through art, and inclusive visual design
- Attention to detail, creativity, and a strong sense of color, space, and movement
- Passion for literacy, neurodiversity, and equity in education
⏰ Commitment:
- Volunteer role, approx. 10–15 hours/week
- Start: ASAP | End: Upon game completion (or extended by mutual agreement)
- Remote & Flexible schedule
