Duties
- Assist residents or clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor patient health by checking vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature regularly
- Support medication administration following prescribed care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations for privacy and confidentiality
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary
- Conduct patient observation to identify changes in condition or behavior and report findings promptly to healthcare professionals
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning resident areas and laundry
- Use specialized equipment like Hoyer lifts or resident’s
for safe transfers and mobility assistance - Document care activities accurately in compliance with healthcare standards and facility policies
- Provide emotional support and companionship to foster a positive atmosphere for residents or clients
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement personalized care plans that meet each individual’s unique needs
Requirements
- Prior experience working in assisted living, nursing homes, home health, hospice care, or group homes is highly preferred
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training are advantageous
- Knowledge of Alzheimer’s disease, dementia care, memory care strategies, autism spectrum disorder support, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities is desirable
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physically demanding tasks throughout shifts
- Strong observational skills for patient monitoring and recognizing urgent health issues
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and healthcare teams
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to improve the lives of others through direct support and caregiving services
