We are seeking a dynamic Medical Office Front Desk professional to be the welcoming face of our healthcare facility. Duties
- Greet patients warmly and professionally, providing exceptional customer service at all times
- Schedule appointments accurately using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth
- Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance eligibility and benefits verification for Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurers
- Collect and process payments, including medical collections and billing procedures using medical billing software
- Manage medical records and ensure proper documentation review in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Answer multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette, directing calls efficiently and professionally
- Maintain accurate patient information, update medical records, and assist with intake procedures for new patients
- Facilitate communication between patients and healthcare providers regarding care plans, CPT coding, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding, and other medical documentation
- Support clinic operations by filing documents, managing office supplies, and performing clerical tasks such as typing reports and data entry with proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
- Assist with medical scheduling, appointment confirmations, and follow-up reminders to optimize clinic flow
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of EMR systems including Epic, Meditech, eClinicalWorks, Athenahealth, Dentrix or Eaglesoft for efficient documentation management
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding, CPT coding, and insurance billing processes
- Experience with health information management practices ensuring HIPAA compliance and confidentiality of patient data
- Proven ability to perform insurance verification accurately and handle Medicare/Medicaid billing procedures
- Bilingual skills are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively
- Prior clinic or dental office experience is preferred to ensure familiarity with healthcare workflows
- Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and office management software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft
- Exceptional customer service skills coupled with professional phone etiquette and a friendly demeanor
- Strong organizational skills for filing, documentation review, and managing multiple priorities in a busy environment
- Ability to perform 10-key typing efficiently for data entry tasks; experience with hospital or dental office management is a plus
