Responsibilities
- Assist lead teachers in planning and executing educational activities that promote literacy, math, social skills, and emotional development.
- Support children with diverse needs, including those with disabilities or autism, ensuring inclusive participation in classroom routines.
- Manage classroom behavior through positive reinforcement and effective behavior management strategies to maintain a safe and respectful environment.
- Engage children in age-appropriate play, tutoring, mentoring, and hands-on learning experiences that stimulate curiosity and creativity.
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and team members to share progress, address concerns, and foster collaborative relationships.
- Help maintain organized classroom materials, proofread educational resources for accuracy, and prepare instructional aids as needed.
- Monitor children’s progress regularly, documenting observations to support individualized learning plans and early childhood development goals.
Requirements
- Prior experience working with children in classroom settings or childcare environments is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles, childhood development stages, and classroom management techniques.
- Familiarity with special education strategies, literacy education methods, math instruction, and behavior management practices.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or autism is a strong plus.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with children, families, and colleagues.
- Ability to multitask in a dynamic environment while maintaining patience and enthusiasm.
- Relevant certifications or training in early childhood education or Montessori methods are desirable but not mandatory; ongoing professional development is encouraged.
