Behavior Support Consortium Coordinator Job Description

 

The Wilbur D. Mills Education Service Cooperative is now accepting applications for a K-12 Behavior Support Consortium Coordinator for the 2023 - 2024 school year. The Behavior Support Consortium Coordinator assists school districts in the WDMESC with the training, coaching, implementation and alignment of evidence-based behavioral practices.  In addition, they will oversee the WDMESC Behavior Support Consortium under the direction of the Director and participating member school districts.  

 

Required Qualifications:

  1. The Behavior Support Consortium Coordinator must have a Master’s degree (or above) in Applied Behavior Analysis, Special Education, School Psychology, or related field.
  2. A Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) as verified through the Behavior Analysis Certification Board is required. If not currently enrolled in a BCBA verified course sequence, candidate must be willing to enroll in a program within the first year of employment and complete all requirements necessary for the BCBA certification within four years of employment.
  3. Experience in a K-12 school environment training and coaching educators using adult learning principles is preferred.
  4. Expert knowledge and experience completing Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA), function-based intervention planning and development of Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP).
  5. Significant experience working with students with problem behaviors is preferred.
  6. Knowledge of the Individuals with Disabilities Act (IDEA) and other special education laws, regulations and procedures.

 Job Responsibilities:
The Behavior Support Consortium Coordinator will:

  1. Develop procedures and protocols regarding response to intervention for behavior for the WDMESC Behavior Support Consortium
  2. Consult with districts to assist with Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) and the development of Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) if needed for individual students through a predetermined referral process;
  3. Oversee and coordinate with the WDMESC Behavior Support Consortium coaches to provide modeling and coaching on the implementation of evidence-based practices to participating school districts.
  4. Establish and maintain effective consultative working relationships with colleagues, district administrators, district staff, and other consultant groups;
  5. Adhere to predetermined timelines, multi-task between projects and respond to work requests based upon priority and complexity;
  6. Access current technology relative to communication, data collection and analysis, and reporting;
  7. Understand state and federal regulations relative to behavioral requirements and students with disabilities;
  8. Familiarize self with most recent research/practice in applied behavior analysis, evidence-based practices and high leverage practices;
  9. Maintain accurate records and files, and prepare documents and reports;
  10. Complete all reports required by the Division of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE), Educational Service Cooperative (ESC) and member school district superintendents
  11. Maintain adequate transportation to support all participating member school districts.

 Terms of Employment:

Salary based on a 210 day contract. The salary will be negotiated at time of hiring.

 

The position will be based at one of the participating member school districts.  Travel to participating districts and cooperatives across the state should be anticipated. This position reports directly to the WDMESC Director under the direction all participating member school districts.
