Description
As a Senior Estimator at WDF Inc., reporting to the Chief Estimator you will have the opportunity to:
- Review and incorporate historical data from purchase orders, subcontracts, productivity analysis reports, etc. into unit and manhour figures
- Provide and/or coordinate full estimating services on large, complex work and all types of contracts
- Review proposal specifications, drawings, attend pre-bid meetings, etc. to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.
- Provide complete conceptual (or bidwork) and final estimating input on complex projects
- Provide technical support to personnel preparing discipline estimates for assigned bids
- Insure all working documents and data are maintained to back-up estimate figures
- Assist contracting department during preparation of inquiries and final evaluation of submitted bids as required
- Track awarded contracts as required - may include estimating/pricing extra work items, change orders, credit; procuring materials, etc.
- Perform additional assignments per supervisor’s direction
- Bachelor degree in Engineering, Construction Management or similar from an accredited institution
- 5 years of relevant estimating and project management experience
- 10 or more years experience estimating for building projects
- Previous estimating experience on projects over $100M in value
- Hands on experience in public projects, including buildings, infrastructure, and/or commercial construction projects
- Experience working with HCSS Heavy Bid, Blue Beam, MS Excel, SmartBid
- Thorough knowledge of company procedures, estimating techniques, all engineering disciplines, cost control systems and accounts required
- Good communication skills to effectively solicit and work with individual project owner’s representatives, material suppliers and subcontractors in pre-bid estimate preparations and post-bid negotiations
- Capable of effectively working within a cohesive Heavy Civil estimating staff to facilitate comprehensive cost proposals and conclude efforts during joint venture team reviews on major projects when applicable
- Excellent written and verbal skills
