Job Description

As a Senior Equipment Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining specific tools in a wafer manufacturing production line (class 100 cleanroom environment). The successful candidate will be able to work with minimal supervision, take initiative and collaborate effectively. The individual will need to demonstrate a willingness to learn, teach, be adaptable, possess a creative problem-solving attitude, have exemplary communication skills and an ability to think on their feet. Candidates must be able to work a 12-hour AWS shift and overtime; as required by the management.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • (Thin-Films) Have an in-depth understanding of Vacuum Theory, intermediate to advanced electronics troubleshooting skills, understand mechanical pump functionality, cryo and turbo pump operation, as well as advanced mechanical troubleshooting concepts. Wafer handling system calibration and manipulation is imperative.
  • (Photolithography) Have in-depth understanding of lasers, optics, environmental controls, and wafer alignment.
  • (CMP/Plating): Have in-depth understanding of AMAT and EBARA Wet Etch toolsets and their operations.
  • Perform preventive maintenance per schedule and MMM (Manufacturing Maintenance Manual) procedures for assigned tool set.
  • Document routine preventive maintenance on PM checklists, record data if applicable and maintain completed checklist/history in the Maintenance database.
  • Troubleshoot and repair unscheduled failures to root cause and document corrective actions within the MES system. Asist Equipment Engineering in repairs and system corrective actions.
  • Provide inputs to Shift Managers, Lead and/or Equipment Engineer to improve PM cycle-time, tool availability, quality/workmanship, reduce wafer scrap and cost of ownership. Improve MTBF.
  • Provide Technical training and certification for maintenance personnel.
  • Support Tool Owner and Equipment Engineer to define and write preventive maintenance procedures.
  • Be prompt and reliable to your team, and possess a self-starter attitude


Qualifications

REQUIRED:

  • Technical degree in Engineering or Science field, Military experience, or Semiconductor Industry experience. (Senior Level)
  • Must have excellent mechanical, theoretical and electrical aptitude.
  • Ability to read electrical schematic diagrams and assembly drawings.
  • Understanding failure mechanisms, ability to isolate and determine root cause, and repair.
  • Proficient in MS Windows Software (Word/Excel/Power Point/Outlook) & Forum Notes
  • Effective team player with proven relationship building and communication skills, including cross-functional with Maintenance, Manufacturing, Engineering, Peers, Management, Customers, and Suppliers.
  • Knowledge of control systems and/or PLC (Process Logic Control)
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends as required.


SKILLS:

  • Advanced Troubleshooting (Electronics, Vacuum Theory, PLC, electrical wiring, understanding of schematics, and mechanical aptitude).
  • Semiconductor environment familiarity
  • Clean-room environment familiarity
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to train junior technicians, as well as receive training by peers
  • Understanding of computer systems, software and operational logic
