Position Summary
WCTE PBS is seeking a dynamic, results-driven Events Fundraiser to lead the planning, execution, and growth of the station’s annual fundraising events. These signature events include Blues & Brews, The Great TV Auction, Haunted Half Marathon, and additional fundraising initiatives throughout the year.
The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter with a proven track record in fundraising events, sponsorship sales, relationship-building, and project management. This role requires someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys seeing their work translate into impact, and isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves to get the job done.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, implement, and execute all WCTE PBS annual fundraising events from concept to completion.
- Secure, solicit, and close event sponsorships, cultivating strong relationships with business partners, donors, and community supporters.
- Manage event budgets, track expenses and revenue, and ensure financial targets are met or exceeded.
- Coordinate logistics, vendors, volunteers, marketing, and operational needs for each event.
- Develop and implement creative strategies to increase event participation, sponsorship opportunities, and overall revenue.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with sponsors, vendors, community partners, and attendees.
- Collaborate cross-departmentally to ensure cohesive branding and promotion of all events.
- Analyze event performance and provide post-event reports, insights, and recommendations.
- Represent WCTE PBS at community functions and networking events.
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of the mission and success of WCTE PBS.
Qualifications
- 3 years of experience in fundraising, event planning, nonprofit development, or related field.
- Demonstrated success in sponsorship solicitation, relationship management, and closing revenue-generating opportunities.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to work independently, take initiative, and drive results.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends as event schedules require.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must be able to lift and move event-related materials as needed.
