Are you passionate about inspiring young learners and shaping meaningful educational experiences? WCNY is seeking a dedicated Per-Diem Education Coordinator to support learning programs for students under 18, including Enterprise America, educational events, and outreach initiatives across Central New York.
The Education Coordinator will focus on Enterprise America and manage educational areas like Skills Enrichment, Regents Review TV, PBS Learning Media, CTE program alignment, educational camps, and school outreach on coordinated NYS station projects and point of contact with the NYS Education Dept. The position will require research and evaluation of the curricula, teaching procedures, and educational materials within an education system that applies to WCNY education programs.

This position will work with educational committees and advisory groups within the community to come up with the most appropriate curricula to meet the needs of their students and interns. This position will also provide training in the use of educational materials and techniques. The Education Coordinator is required to comply with local, state, and national standards per New York Department of Education regulations and guidelines.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Support curriculum planning, lesson development, and coordination of WCNY educational programs.
- Assist students and alumni with résumés, job-search materials, and career readiness.
- Coordinate communication and relationships between WCNY, schools, community partners, and HR.
- Staff and support tabling events such as the NYS Fair, Summer Learning Day, PBS Mascot events, and local family/education days.
- Plan and support career events, experiential learning activities, and program evaluations.
- Coordinate marketing and social media content for educational initiatives, including Enterprise America and WiCkNeY KIDS.
- Represent WCNY at community events, school visits, and outreach activities (in-person and virtual).
- Collaborate with staff to ensure program quality, content development, and effective communication with donors and stakeholders.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold WCNY policies in all responsibilities.
- · Perform additional duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Associate Degree in Education or equivalent or 2 years’ experience in education, youth programs, or curriculum support.
- Bachelor’s degree in education or related field preferred
- Strong communication, organizational, and student-support skills.
- Experience working with K–12 students and community partners.
- Proficient with educational technology and Microsoft Office.
- Strong administrative, organizational, and administrative skills
- Strong interpersonal, oral, written, and electronic media communication skills
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Exhibit knowledge of company identity
- Demonstrate strong writing and editing skills
- Create and maintain a network of vendors for promotional events
- Demonstrate knowledge of website and HTML code
- Manage time efficiently and think creatively
- Exhibit proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Prolonged periods of standing during presentations
- Must be able to lift to 15 pounds at times.
