JOB REQUIREMENTS: The Mortgage Lending Manager manages a team of
mortgage loan officers in developing member relationships, promoting
mortgage loan products and other credit unions products and services.
This manager will be responsible for day-to-day operations of the
mortgage team from pipeline management, assisting with complex files,
coaching, and training staff. This position will also collaborate with
our Mortgage Operations Manager to create efficiencies and streamline
lending processes. This leader will be responsible for working on
compliance and regulations with the Mortgage Operations Manager to
comply with changing regulations that impact the mortgage loan officers.
This person will be responsible for collaborating with other departments
to help create organizational growth, efficiencies, and best member
service. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Lead and manage a team
of mortgage loan officers to build mortgage loans, deposits, and other
credit union products and services. Oversee production goals to achieve
strategic growth through referrals and other opportunities. Direct loan
flow and workload among mortgage lending staff. Maintain strong
knowledge of credit union policies, procedures, and services;
collaborate with other departments on regulatory or operational updates.
Maintain an active NMLS number per SAFE Act requirements. Manage a
mortgage loan portfolio by building strong relationships, negotiating,
and structuring loans to meet borrower needs while adhering to
regulations. Assist members with loan questions, rates, products, and
programs, document contacts, solutions, and timelines. Originate and
underwrite mortgages when needed, including interviews, counseling, and
guiding applicants through the process. Collaborate with marketing and
retail departments to promote mortgage lending growth and
cross-department initiatives. Monitor real estate loan collections with
the Member Solutions/Risk Department; review delinquencies and assist
with resolution planning. Serve as primary or backup administrator for
origination/servicing software and related websites; ensure mortgage
website content is current. Prepare, respond to, and train staff on
audit findings from investors, auditors, examiners, and internal
reviews. Review and help implement projects related to the Mortgage Loan
Department. Prepare annual budgets, reports, reviews, and investor
filings. Participate in credit union committees and meetings as
assigned. Solicit real estate loan business through credit union and
personal marketing activities; represent the credit union in community,
trade, and civic organizations; develop professional relationships with
vendors and service providers. Managerial Responsibilities: Supervises
and coordinates activities of employees engaged in the credit union\'s
mortgage lending functions. Utilize Integrity Coaching to provide
consistent coaching, development, and performance review. Also provide
continuous feedback and reinforcement of policies and procedures. Travel
to branch locations to work with staff for training purposes as well as
following procedures & remaining compliant with regulatory updates.
Plans, prepares, and schedules staff, according to budgets and workloads
to maintain proper staffing & ensure smooth daily operations. Maintains
a highly motivated, well-trained staff and establishes effective
employee relations. In cooperation with your leader (and in consultation
with Human Resources), take responsibility for hiring, training,
coaching, and discharging of staff. Welcomes new staff members to the
department. Develop & maintain a budget. Ensures each staff member
receives proper orientation, training, coaching and cross-training to
ensure quality service. Communicates with other departments and
management to resolve problems and expedite work. Interprets and
communicates work procedures and company policies to staff. Resolves
complaints nd answers questions of others regarding services and
procedures. Develops & maintains constructive and cooperative working
relationships with others. Reviews and checks work of staff for accuracy
and content. Provides additional training where needed. Makes
recommendations to management concerning staff and improvement of
procedures. Requisitions supplies as needed for the department. Assists
staff in handling complex situations. Schedules and facilitates regular
staff meetings. Ensures that the appearance of the department is neat,
organized, and in accordance with Credit Union policy. Ensures that all
confidential records in the work area are properly secured each day.
Work Relationships and Scope: Reports directly to the Vice President of
Mortgage & Lending Services. Will have regular contact with management,
vendors, members and employees of the lending department. Performance
Dimensions: Must maintain the integrity of confidential business
information and follow all guidelines on confidentiality. Provide
outstanding services to co-workers & members. Possess the ability to
attend to numerous details with frequent interruptions under the stress
of maintaining courteous, effective, and timely relations with a variety

confidentiality of sensitive member information with exceptional

strong understanding of the financial and operational requirements of a
