Waukesha County is seeking a detail-oriented, collaborative, and service-focused Senior Fiscal Specialist to support the Treasurer’s Office in a variety of accounting, property tax, reporting, reconciliation, and customer service functions.
This position is a strong opportunity for someone with bookkeeping, accounting, financial, municipal, banking, or related experience who is interested in building specialized expertise in county treasury operations. The ideal candidate will have the ability and willingness to learn Wisconsin property tax collection processes, tax settlements, lottery credit records, in-rem foreclosure support, unclaimed funds reporting, and statutory reporting requirements.

- Experience with Workday or similar financial management systems.

- Interest in or openness to using artificial intelligence tools appropriately in a government office environment.
- Real estate, title, property records, or property tax experience.
- Governmental accounting experience.
- Municipal treasurer, deputy treasurer, municipal clerk, or deputy clerk experience.
- Banking, financial, cash management, or accounting experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to reconcile accounts, review financial activity, and identify discrepancies.
- Ability to learn and apply Wisconsin State Statutes related to county treasury and tax collection functions.
