Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Part-Time Contract Therapist (1099) to join our dynamic mental health team. Duties
- Provide individual, group, and family therapy sessions utilizing modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and applied behavior analysis.
- Conduct thorough intake assessments and diagnostic evaluations using ICD-10 and ICD-9 coding systems to determine appropriate treatment plans.
- Implement crisis intervention strategies and crisis management protocols to ensure client safety and stability.
- Deliver specialized counseling services including grief counseling, addiction counseling, PTSD care, gender issues counseling, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism.
- Document all patient interactions accurately in compliance with HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards; maintain detailed medical records and progress notes.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on case management, patient care planning, and clinical research initiatives.
- Utilize telehealth platforms to provide remote therapy sessions while adhering to best practices for virtual care.
Requirements
- Master’s degree or higher in social work, psychology, counseling or related field from an accredited institution.
- Valid licensure as a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW), licensed professional counselor (LPC), psychologist or equivalent in the state of Maryland.
- Proven experience in psychotherapy, including working with children, families, geriatrics, or individuals with disabilities.
- Strong knowledge of behavioral health treatment modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, applied behavior analysis (ABA), and crisis management techniques.
- Familiarity with ICD coding systems (ICD-10/ICD-9) for diagnostic evaluation and documentation purposes.
- Experience delivering services via telehealth platforms with excellent technical proficiency.
- Ability to handle sensitive situations involving trauma, grief, chronic pain management, or substance use disorders with professionalism and empathy.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, HIPAA compliance standards, and medical records management is essential.
