What are the responsibilities and job description for the Teacher Assistant position at WB?
JOB GOAL: To prtvide educational support to students in a variety of settings and promote academic success; to provide administrative and cleerical support to teachers as needed.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervises students outside of the classroom:
- Car Duty
- Hall Duty
- Lunch Duty
- Field Trips
- Nap times
- Prepares for instruction with minimal instruction from lead teachers
- Administers tests and assessments
- Assists with cleaning and maintaining the classroom as needed
- Substitutes in the classroom as needed
- Grades student work as required
- Collaborates with colleagues
- Monitors student progress
- Works under the direct supervision of the classroom teacher unless otherwise assigned by the appropriate supervisor
- Prepares the classroom and organizes instructional materials and equipment as directed by the teacher
- Attend in-service and faculty meetings when directed to do so by the principal or supervisor
- Performs office duties such: making copies, laminating, assisting with teacher prep, preparing for lessons, bulletin boards, prep for crafts projects
- Keeps school business, or student records confidential in or out of school or with peers in accordance with FERPA
- Performs other routine duties as assigned by the building-level administrator subject to the approval of the supervisor
- Establishes and maintains satisfactory, respectful working relationships within the school environment
- Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma, preferred 2-year degree
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Physically must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Must be mentally able to withstand the rigors of the position
- Must enjoy working with children
Salary : $16 - $23
