Inventory Specialist - 3rd Shift

Job Purpose/Scope

The Inventory Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory levels through regular counting and reconciliation processes. This role ensures the integrity of inventory data, helps identify discrepancies, and supports the continuous improvement of inventory management systems.

Shift: Monday through Friday: 8:30PM to 5:00AM

Key Responsibilities

Inventory Management

• Oversee Inventory Operations: Collaborate with warehouse staff, purchasing, and production teams to maintain accurate inventory levels.
• Compliance: Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures related to inventory management.
• Communication: Effectively communicate inventory issues and discrepancies to team members and supervisors, providing coaching and re-education as needed.
• Cycle Counts: Perform daily, weekly, and monthly cycle counts according to the schedule.
• Physical Counts: Conduct physical inventory counts to verify system accuracy.
• Discrepancy Resolution: Investigate and resolve differences between physical counts and inventory records, reporting significant issues to the Manager.
• Inventory Records: Accurately record and update counts in the inventory management system, maintaining detailed records of all cycle counts and reconciliations.
• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve inventory accuracy and efficiency and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
• Safety: Adhere to safety standards and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
• Other Duties: Perform all other duties as assigned.

Shipping / Receiving Help, Guide & Coach

• Order Recording: Record order details in the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
• RF Scanning: Use RF scanning equipment to ensure inventory accuracy.
• Order Verification: Compare purchase orders with invoices and packaging lists.
• Delivery Inspection: Inspect deliveries to ensure they meet order and invoice criteria.
• Receiving & Storing: Receive and sign for deliveries, organizing and storing items in appropriate areas.
• Other Duties: Perform all other duties as assigned.

Experience & Educational Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Required Experience:
• • One (1) year or more of forklift operation experience.
  • One (1) year or more of warehouse experience.
• Preferred Experience:
• • One (1) year or more of cycle counting/inventory experience.
  • Reach truck experience.
• Skills:
• • Excellent hand-eye coordination.
  • Proficiency in operating technical machinery and RF scanners.
  • Good physical condition.
  • Mathematical aptitude.
