Job Purpose/Scope: Loading and unloading warehouse material using forklifts, optimizing loads to ensure operational efficiency, and identifying damages to vehicles.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Forklift Operation & Maintenance
1. Loading, unloading, shipping, and receiving warehouse items.
2. Transporting materials to different locations within the facility.
3. Optimizing loads to ensure operational efficiency.
4. Safely stacking and storing inventory and other warehouse equipment.
5. Securing loads to the machine before transportation.
6. Inspecting for damages to vehicles, crates, or other warehouse inventory or equipment.
7. Scheduling vehicles for maintenance and repairs.
8. Operating and managing technical equipment.
9. Managing inventory by utilizing RF scanning equipment.
10. Picking and wrapping orders for shipment.
11. Identifying workplace safety hazards.
12. Adhering to safety management standards.
Record Keeping
1. Inventory materials on work floor.
2. Weigh materials or products and record weight on tags, labels, or production schedules.
3. Count materials accurately and complete logs accordingly.
4. All other duties assigned.
Supervision Received and Given:
The Forklift Operator reports to the Warehouse Manager.
The Forklift Operator has no direct reports.
Experience & Educational Requirements:
High school diploma or GED.
One (1) year or more forklift operation experience required.
One (1) year or more warehouse experience required.
Reach truck experience preferred.
Excellent hand-eye coordination.
Proficiency in operating technical machinery and RF scanners.
Good physical condition.
Mathematical aptitude.
Good organizational skills.
Attention to detail.
Good written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Exceptional customer service orientation.
Extensive experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Must be able to read, write and understand English
Working Environment:
Work is performed in a warehouse (industrial) environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an individual encounters while performing the essential functions of this position.
