Compensation Range: $52,308- $123,452 (Depending on Education and Experience, Prorated on FTE)
Candidates selected to fill the role of Elementary Art Specialist Teacher for Wayzata Public Schools will be given the great responsibility of continuing our long standing commitment to academic excellence. This will be done through the design and delivery of instruction that ensures the success of a diverse population of learners. In addition, you will be responsible for building positive relationships and working collaboratively with students, parents, and staff members to foster a positive experience for the entire learning community. Previous elementary teaching is preferred and this position requires a valid MN K-5 Elementary Teaching License.

Knowledge Qualifications
- Must have strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive learning environment;
- Deep knowledge of elementary pedagogy;
- Understanding of Social, Emotional and Behavior Development and Acquisition;
- Understanding of school wide assessments;
- Applicable local, state, and federal laws, rules, and regulations;
- Record keeping principles
- Computers and related software applications.
- Ability to build strong and positive relationships with colleagues, students, and parents;
- Managing classroom behavior;
- Ideal candidates should also have experience with multiple instructional designs and differentiated strategies that support diverse learners.
- Must have the ability to calmly and effectively deal with a variety of unexpected circumstances.
- Must be proficient with current technology used to support communication, academics, and student progress monitoring.
- Organization and implementation of school wide testing protocols;
- Maintaining applicable student records to demonstrate improvement in behavior;
- Applying local, state, and federal laws, rules, and regulations;
- Preparing and maintaining records and reports;
- Operating a computer and applicable software applications;
- Communication and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.
