Position Summary:
We are seeking an IT Support Specialist with a strong focus on eClinicalWorks administration and day-to-day technical support for clinic staff. This role will serve as the primary internal resource for EHR support, user assistance, basic device setup, and Level 1 IT functions.
The position will work closely with the clinic’s Managed IT Service Provider (MSP), which is responsible for infrastructure, advanced networking, and other higher-level IT operations.
Main Responsibilities:
eClinicalWorks Administration & Support
- Serve as the primary point of contact for eClinicalWorks support, troubleshooting, and day-to-day maintenance.
- Assist staff with EHR workflows, user issues, and system functionality.
- Coordinate with vendors and internal stakeholders to resolve application-related issues and support system updates.
- Help identify opportunities to improve workflows and efficiency through better use of eClinicalWorks.
End-User IT Support
- Provide Level 1 technical support for staff, including assistance with hardware, software, printers, login/access issues, and general troubleshooting.
- Set up and configure workstations, laptops, and other clinic devices.
- Support onboarding and offboarding tasks such as user setup, permissions, and basic equipment deployment.
- Escalate infrastructure, server, and network-related issues to the managed IT provider as needed.
Security & Compliance Support
- Support clinic adherence to HIPAA, HITECH, and data privacy requirements.
- Assist with user access management, password/MFA support, and basic security best practices.
- Partner with the managed IT provider on security-related processes, audits, and issue resolution.
Training & Documentation
- Train staff on eClinicalWorks usage and other common clinic technology tools.
- Create and maintain documentation for procedures, user guides, and basic IT processes.
- Provide clear communication to staff regarding common issues, updates, and support practices.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.
- 2–4 years of IT support experience, preferably in a healthcare or clinical environment.
- Experience supporting eClinicalWorks strongly preferred.
Technical Skills:
- Experience supporting EHR/EMR systems, especially eClinicalWorks.
- Working knowledge of Windows, Microsoft 365, user account support, and basic workstation troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with printers, endpoint devices, and common office/clinic technology.
- Understanding of healthcare privacy and security requirements.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with third-party vendors and managed service providers.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a small-to-medium healthcare practice.
- Familiarity with practice management or medical billing systems.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
