Job Responsibilities
- Create daily social content—including reels, stories, and carousels—using a variety of sources for multiplatform distribution, while demonstrating consistent, strong news judgment
- Monitor a variety of video sources to identify content that would appeal to our audiences
- Support reporters with the creation of original vertical videos
- Stay on the cutting-edge of digital multimedia trends and innovation
- Stay up to date with local and national news stories
- Curate YouTube channels
- Contribute to the creation of video series for OTT, FAST and all platforms
- Create content for linear/broadcast platforms, which could include writing scripts or editing video
- Be a problem solver who can make decisions under stress and tight deadlines
- Translate content between English and Spanish when needed
- Contribute to enterprise projects that support local news coverage
- Coordinate and monitor the streaming of live events and newscasts on our platforms
- Abide by the ethical standards of the NBC News Group and Telemundo Station Group when creating and producing content for all platforms
- Minimum 2 years of multimedia experience at a major news organization that creates content under tight deadlines
- Proficient with Adobe Premiere and other professional editing programs
- Experience working with an online publishing tool or content management system
- Experience with writing and/or editing and/or producing daily video products
- A track record of creative storytelling across multiple web platforms and an understanding of what works best in different platforms
- Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish required
- Must be available to work overtime, evenings, weekends and holidays as needed or required
- Must have a flexible schedule with ability to work any of a 24x7 shift and willingness to travel and work long hours and on weekends and holidays with short notice
- Must be willing to work in Miramar, FL
- Must be 18 years or greater
- Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
- Must be willing to work in high-risk emergency situations, including hurricanes
- Team player mentality
- Exceptional communication skills.
- Experience writing scripts, captions, and text for video graphics.
- Excellent news instincts with the ability to react decisively to breaking news.
- Must have the desire to work in a creative, demanding, competitive news environment
- Experience in editing video for web, social media platforms & TV
- Experience with Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, Audition or comparable creative
- Tools
- Experience with videography and conducting field shoots a plus
- Experience with Wordpress, SocialFlow, CrowdTangle and WildMoka a plus
