We are seeking a self-starter to support our Infrared Payload (IRPL) Integrated Product Team (IPT). In this role, you will work closely with our Lockheed Martin engineers and key supplier technical team to develop a preliminary design for a technically advanced optical payload.
In this role, you will assist the IRPL IPT in the following areas:

We are seeking a self-starter to support our Infrared Payload (IRPL) Integrated Product Team (IPT). In this role, you will work closely with our Lockheed Martin engineers and key supplier technical team to develop a preliminary design for a technically advanced optical payload.
In this role, you will assist the IRPL IPT in the following areas:
- Track and report on risk mitigation activities
- Participate in design trade activities
- Evaluate payload supplier designs
- Contribute to ICD and requirement maturation
Basic Qualifications:
- Currently a Junior/Senior standing, pursuing a degree in Aerospace, Optical, or Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Experience using collaboration tools like Microsoft Teams, Slack, or Google Workspace.
- Proactive mindset with a willingness to ask questions and learn new tools quickly.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast paced environment.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Secret Security clearance - U.S. Citizenship required
- Experience with MATLAB
- Experience with 3D modeling and or structural/dynamic analysis
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and handle constructive feedback professionally
- Current or existing Interim or Secret Clearance
- Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

- Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

- Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $31,616 - $77,788. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
