Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopaedics business to establish a standalone orthopaedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals. However, all applications will be considered._ We are searching for the best talent for an Operations Specialist in Bridgewater, MA . The Operations Specialist is responsible for implementing projects, programs, and processes in support of the organization's Manufacturing Process Improvement strategy. This role ensures that manufacturing remains a smooth and efficient process by monitoring workflows, coordinating activities, and coaching frontline team members and partners. A key emphasis is understanding complex operations to ensure production processes are safe, deliver maximum quality, and are cost-effective for customers and patients. This role collaborates closely with team leads and cross-functional partners. The position executes JJPS projects as assigned and may take on additional assignments and other duties as applicable.

Duties / Responsibilities

  • Accomplishes manufacturing objectives by clarifying expectations with team members; planning, monitoring, and appraising results; coaching and empowering staff; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintains workforce capability by supporting onboarding, orientation, and training activities; fostering personal growth opportunities.
  • Maintains workflow by monitoring steps of the process, equipment, and resources; coordinating with cross-functional partners to keep production moving smoothly.
  • Works proactively with cross-functional partners to implement cost reductions, drive process/productivity improvements, and foster cooperation within and between departments.
  • Completes production plan by coordinating with production leads to schedule work, ensuring priorities are clear, tracking progress, adapting schedules as needed, and resolving issues.
  • Ensures operation of equipment by coordinating maintenance activities and evaluating new equipment and techniques.
  • Maintains a safe and clean work environment by promoting and modeling EHS&S standards and procedures.
  • Ensures quality standards and procedures are followed; supports regulatory requirements (audits, CAPA, etc.) as assigned.
  • May contribute to the departmental budget. Reviews expenses and implements cost controls to help ensure budgets are not exceeded.
  • May interface with cross-functional stakeholders, including Engineering, PP&L, Maintenance, EHS&S, Quality, Operational Excellence, and others (as appropriate).
  • Ensures EHSS objectives and targets are established for applicable employees, training is assigned and completed on time, and procedures are implemented, followed, and monitored to ensure EHSS compliance.
  • Ensures EHSS incidents are reported promptly in CURVE, investigated, and CAPAs completed on time.
  • Ensures EHSS is integrated into department processes and meetings including MOC, JSA, EHS walkthroughs, GEMBA, CURVE CAPAs & resources.
  • Executes JJPS projects as assigned and takes on stretch assignments and other duties as applicable. Qualifications / Requirements
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Four or more years of experience in manufacturing or a related/supporting function.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams; strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to set clear objectives for self and others and to motivate teams to achieve goals (without direct supervisory authority).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and data-driven thinking; proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with Quality and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) is preferred.
  • Experience in the Medical Device or Pharmaceutical Industry is preferred.
  • Lean Manufacturing experience is preferred.
  • The role requires adaptability to take on additional responsibilities and stretch assignments as needed; overtime eligibility may apply. Additional Information
  • The anticipated base pay range for this position is 66,000 to 106,260.
  • The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.
  • Employees and/or eligible dependents may be eligible to participate in the following Company sponsored employee benefit programs: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, business accident insurance, and group legal insurance.
