We have an exciting opportunity for an ambitious student to join our R&D team for summer 2026! As the R &D Functional Fiber Intern , you will support progression of a research project related to dietary fiber ingredient. This work will also give you the opportunity to work for novel fiber development and understanding. You will have the opportunity to evaluate functional characteristics of dietary fiber ingredients and relate functionality to food and beverage application utility.

What you will do:

• Conduct searches on prior art (literature, patents), and current technology including competitive activity on related projects, and summarizing the outcomes in appropriate report
• Perform laboratory experiments safely with little direct supervision, conduct data analysis and interpret results to make recommendations to project team and support the project
• Coordinate, summarize and report data generated from these experiments
• Record data in the Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN) and other archiving databases as appropriate; effectively communicating results to project teams and partners
• Present research findings to management with recommendations for future New Product Development or Applied Research projects at completion of internship period
  
  

What you will bring:

• Progress towards a Bachelor’s degree or higher in food science, food chemistry, biochemistry or related field with laboratory research experience
• Ability to work safely in a laboratory environment
• Interpersonal, verbal and written technical communication skills, e.g. making presentations and writing technical data/reports
• Reliable transportation required to get to and from facility each work day

Pay Range: $22-25/hour
