Wayside Multi-Service Center - Watertown
Salary: $23.50 to $25.50/hour sign-on bonus (half paid after 30 days of employment and the other half paid after 90 days of employment/pro-rated for part time).
The Watertown Social Service Resource Specialist provides resources and referrals to Watertown residents in need, such as for food, housing, and financial assistance. This is a part-time post, 20 hours/week.

What You Will Do:
- The Resource Specialist will complete needs and strengths assessments, case management and referrals, as well as follow-up to ensure the referrals are effective.
- Answer phone calls, and meet with individuals both in the office, in the community, by phone, or virtually.
- Hold walk-in hours for residents to access resources.
- Document activities as required for local funders.
- Develop and maintain excellent relationships with community stakeholders including the local human services department, police, schools, service providers, etc.
- Collaborate with coworkers and participate in weekly supervision with Supervisor, weekly SSRS team meetings, and all scheduled Multi staff meetings
- Perform other functions as assigned by supervisor at times when schedule permits and there is a need.
- Demonstrated experience assessing social service need and facilitating people’s connection to resources.
- Strong ability to outreach to and collaborate with other providers and referral sources is a must.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic groups required.
- Demonstrates ability to work both independently and on a team.
- Demonstrates the ability to market program and represent the agency externally and internally.
- Excellent time management skills, strong ability to collaborate, positive teamwork, flexibility, excellent verbal and written communication skills and a sense of humor are required.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks is required.
- Position requires a bachelor’s degree and related field experience providing direct services to adults or families.
- Some evening hours are required.
- Valid driver’s license, driving record in good standing and access to reliable transportation required. This position requires local travel to outreach locations and sites for programming and stakeholder meetings. Mileage reimbursement at current agency rate.
- Highly preferred language capacity for Portuguese, Haitian Creole, or Spanish.
- Position requires a bachelor’s degree and related field experience providing direct services to adults or families.
Salary : $24 - $26
